What do you do now instead of eating

Recommended Posts

What do you do when your friends want to hang out, or while your at home on a lazy day?

While your watching tv?

The more I think about things, the more I realize how much I incorporate food into almost every activity...so how do you feel the void?

Actually I'm struggling. I am trying to control the picking at night. I keep my phone in my hands a lot. It's so scary how much I ate/ picked at food. I'm thinking about taking up knitting to keep my hands busy.

I havent gone out with friends. I dont really have any. Ive been secluded for the past several years. I havent come up.with much of a replacement but if I had to pick I would say couponing. Clipping organizing, and planning shopping trips

I've started crocheting. In the 4 weeks since surgery I made 2 hats, 2 scarves, 2 head bands and now I'm working on a totebag! Gotta love YouTube for tutorials!

It's the hardest part because you are right ... So much of our lives revolved around food. I am not much of a tv watcher... So I just always have a water bottle to sip on. I too carry my phone with me like heather... I have the etsy and Pinterist rnytalk apps which are my go-to s.... I wish there was a pill to take with our Vitamins to take our minds off food... Lol!!!

What do you do when your friends want to hang out' date=' or while your at home on a lazy day? I don't have hang out friends. Everyone I know has a job & no time to hang out.

While your watching tv? I simply watch tv or sometimes I have Quaker cheddar rice cake stuff. Mini pop corn but I don't have to.

I feel fine. I don't feel food controls my life. I used to eat a lot like 2 plates fill like a mountain of home cook meals. My problem wasn't eating it was the amount in one setting. I didn't spend my whole day eating or watching tv eating chips.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
