Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted December 31, 2012 I am still on insulin but a lot less to get the same numbers. Still need some adjusting. Still holding out hope that the diabetes will improve. Not the miracle I was hoping for but it is better and I think it will get better.
msixkiller 96 Posted December 31, 2012 I was on 2 oral Meds and insulin before surgery. I came home with 1 oral pill. Sugars run 130- 150 but doctor does not seem as concerned with it he stated that I was still healing and weight loss will improve that in time. I am praying he is right I had worked very hard to get my A1C down to 7.0 before the surgery.
tink65 46 Posted December 31, 2012 I felt it was just me, everyone kept saying "surgery will get rid of it instantly" I guess time will tell! Also I was reading if you take CINNAMON it helps to bring down the sugar levels, maybe I'll try it.
gottagetfit 15 Posted December 31, 2012 before surgery, i was on 3 Metformin a day, 84 units of Lantus at night and Novolog insulin for coverage during the day. Since surgery (3 weeks ago), i am only on Lantus 20 units at bedtime. I hope i will eventually be off of it too! 1 Vicki Loichinger reacted to this

gc> 50 Posted December 31, 2012 I'm 2 weeks from surgery and I am still needing some [modest amount and decreasing] insulin. Each result is unique/different I've been told. Good luck
