I have done this several times in the last 5 1/2 months since my surgery, usually the best way to relieve it for me if the Papaya enzyme tablets don't do the job,I usually end up being so nauseated that it is vomited back up and it is almost instant relief. Vomiting is probably not the best option, but it seems like it is the quickest relief to end the suffering that would continue for hours on end.

Sky, I think it was you that mentioned the papaya in another thread last week. I had never heard of it, got some just in case and thank God I had it on Thursday. My food was stuck & I was miserable but the papaya really helped. How many do you chew? My brand recommends 4 but I started with 2 & that helped. Thank you so much for the info. :)

I ate chicken last night, now I have pain in my chest dead center, it feels like something is there. I tried throwing up, didn't work and I took one papaya enzyme tab should I take more? And is this where the pain was for the rest of you? I'm nervous

Yeah you got the food stuck alright! It is painful and just as you described! The bubbles are because your body is attempting to process it, but cant so mucus sputum forms all around it so you can sick it up.

It happen to me today. I wasn't in hours of pain but my stomach was killing me. I had a few fried fries & clam strips. I thought I was gonna die. It came out opposite of vomiting.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
