Hi all I have been on Protein Shakes since 12-19 but my doctor has me on 3 shakes 2 apples and a salad with grilled chicken and sugar free dressing daily down 7 pounds my stomach does get upset and what adds to it is when I had the endoscopic I had a stomach infection who knew so he put me on prepak which is 2 biaxin, 4 amoxicillin and 2 Prevacid kills my stomach . Pre surgical testing 1-3 then the count down till the 9th . My doctor wanted me to lose between 12 and 15 pounds before surgery I am sure I will do it this will be a great year for us.

Hi ladies,

This is my first post, but I'm having my surgery on January 8th! So good to "meet" others on the same schedule. I am on day 6 of the liquid diet and I don't think I've lost anything yet! The only thing I cheated with was a little orange two days running, but I think that's ok to eat. Had my pre- surgical testing done today and there is nothing left but to count down the days! Glad the headaches went away. My New Years Eve is ruined this year, but that's ok because next year I'm making my husband take me out because I will get to wear a sexy dress!!

So I survived my surgery, and the three days of nausea in the hospital (yuk) and now I am almost two weeks out trying to keep down food. It's proving difficult.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
