abbybeep 53 Posted December 23, 2012 I had my surgery on Monday, 12/17, and I have lost 12 lbs. I know my situation is somewhat unique: I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy in early August of this year, but was unable to keep myself hydrated... I lost a bit over 70lbs in 19 weeks with the sleeve and then they converted me to bypass (my sleeve was all sorts of messed up!). My surgeon has me on just Clear Liquids until like Thursday, so I've just been doing Water & Isopure as much as possible. I'm not dehydrated. So, is 12lbs too much? totally nervous! mrsblues 81 Posted December 23, 2012 Everyone loses at their own pace. Some weigh more due to the fluids retained, others lose quickly. As long as you are not dehydrated, I wouldn't worry. Congrats!

Just get the liquids in and Protein and you'll keep up the weight loss. Gen :-)
abbybeep 53 Posted December 24, 2012 Thanks! I just figured since I'm not up where I was before- 250s- and down in the 170-160 range that I would lose slower this time after surgery. It's hard to fathom that after 20 weeks I'm so close to my goal! I'll be back where I was weight wise in high school almost 10 years ago!
mrsblues 81 Posted December 24, 2012 Wow, that is fantastic! I am so happy for your progress. Remember your doctor will be able to tell you if concern is necessary. Make sure you are getting the nutrition, Protein, and fluids you need but in the meantime, enjoy!
