lapband4meNOW 0 Posted February 13, 2007 They put the catheter in when I was under because afterward they didnt want me getting in and out of bed for a little while. So, if you have to go pee, you can't really get up right after surgery when the anethesia is wearing off and you are in recovery. I have had catheters before, awake, before my c-sections. Not a big deal. Just a little uncomfortable but it is over quick. Some doctors do it, some dont. I stayed in overnight too. Didn't get it out until the next day.
