50 Pounds down in 2 months!

Recommended Posts

Woohooo I am so excited. Today is my official 2 month weigh-in and I have lost 50 pounds, 94 pounds from my heighest. I am so happy to have lost 50 and am finally feeling like this surgery was worth it. It has taken me awhile to get here just because of all the changes I have had to make and the fact that I can't eat food to make me happy. I never relized how much I relied on food for my happiness but I did 100%. I think the weight loss and feeling healthy and having more energy is my new happiness. I still have my moments when I miss the crappy foods that I love but for the most part I am doing pretty damn good. I can't wait to lose more and feel even healthier and more alive. This is amazing!!! To those people who are having a hard time just hold on as tight as you can. You WILL get to a better spot I promise!!!

Awesome job! It's definitely a lot of mind work but, you can do it. Read what you can, research and try out new hobbies! It's all worth it because YOU'RE WORTH IT! :)

You are very welcome. That was why I wanted to post this. To let others like you know that it will get better especially when you feel like there is no hope and you are never going to feel that way. Just stay strong.

Thank you :) I usually exercise Mon-Fri for about 20 min in the morning. I drop my daughter off at school and then walk around the neighborhood around there and then walk back to my car and go home and get ready for work. I also lift hand weights and use bands to strength train. I should do way more but I haven't. I love the walking videos by Leslie Samson. You can get them at Walmart or target, online, almost anywhere. I use her tape to strengh train with the bands. She is great for all ages and all sizes. She only has like 5 moves she does so it's easy but it will def make you sweat! Hope this has helped.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
