Water drink drink drink!

Recommended Posts

Make sure you get all your Water in, along with your Protein Drink, aim to drink 60-75g of Protein and about 68 oz that would be 4 to 6 oz each hour (Sugar free ice cream pops, Decaf ice tea, broth) It's. Not easy with that small Tummy but it must be done.

I find it is not a problem to get all my Water in. I just sip all day long. But I'm not able to get in all my Protein. I find sweet stuff (those pre-op protein shakes) to no longer be tolerable. But I am making sure to stay hydrated.

I asked my docs assistant if broth counts to my Water or the water in my shakes or Jello and she said no, my water needs to be on top of those things, but that doesn't seem right to me. Any thoughts?

Cold things cause esophageal spasms for me and they suck majorly. I can only do room temp anything.

Clear liquid 0-3 days hydration is very important. What you can have. Water, Isopure, Crystal light, Diet Snapple, broth, Decaf Tea/ coffee, Propel water, SF Popsicle/ Jello and Ice chips. My coordinator said Isopure does not count as a Liquid.. sheez

Thank God. Because all I'm able to get down is 1 20oz Isopure a day. I know that isn't enough, but I'm working on it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
