I had surgery 6.5 months ago, I have been doing pretty good so far but, I have not lost any weight since the beginning of Dec. Things had really slowed down since September and now have stopped all together. I have increased my exercise and my Protein and it has had no effect. At my 6 month check up the doctor said that he thought I would lose another 25 pounds before my year comes up. That would have been about a pound a week.

I have lost a few inches all over since the weight lose stopped, I now fit into 12's which I couldn't do before December, so that is encouraging. But still very frustrated with no weight loss for almost 3 weeks.

Any suggestions? I am going to try to show you a picture from last Christmas and one from just last week.post-14100-13813810901691_thumb.jpg

it could be a simple as a stall ( i just had my first 3week stall after almost 5m of 5lb a week weight loss!) or it could be an issue with metabolism...how is your Water intake?

We could ALL drink more Water haha

Do you have a system in place for reference? aka a food journal or phone app? I personally use MyFitnessPal on my iPod which has been a tremendous help!

Are you working out?? Even with walking your legs will creat more muscle and muscle weighs more then fat. If you are losing inches that's the great thing!! You may be building muscle which is also great too. More muscle mass you build the more calories you will burn and the weight will drop on the scale.< /p>

I just talked to my surgeon's nurse and she told me to exercise for at least 45 min a day and to get 60-90 grams of Protein

And to make sure to get enough Water

The more you exercise the more Water you drink

Because I gained 7 pounds, so I know your frustration

Good luck

I had surgery 4/9 and in August I stopped losing weight :( and for 2 months I did not loose. I was totally freaked out, I then increased my intensity of my exercise from walking to running and increased from 45 min. to 1 hr plus and that got me losing again. Not as fast as I would like but I am losing again. Some of us are slow losers !!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
