IF the problem is so alarming then first thing you should do is to go for thyroidal checkup. If you get a negative on that then start a healthy diet regime with citrus fruits in the morning followed by raw vegetables and salads. Add them frequently in your snacking menu too. If you can go for a 20 minutes jogging everyday that would be highly beneficial else you can just walk for 4 miles a day. Start practicing yoga in the morning and follow this without any breaks.

Well the lap band just messed my stomach up and I like my doc it just couldn't be seen it is just discouageing. Heal is first then the bypass so 6 mo's from now if I remember from recovery I walk and eat right and lost on the band but bc of the problems it was causing is why I needed a resiovon just sad I thought I would be past this point. Not going to have to be in a holding pattern. I also have to belatedly not to gain and loose to much to change my bmi or could create a hole other can of worms

I can not imagine how disappointed you were. That was a big fear of mine that I would wake up and find they only took out the band and didn't do the RNY I have even dreamt of that happening before and after surgery. I pray your stomach heals so that you can have the RNY within six months. I know the waiting will be miserable. I wish I had a magic answer. It is just going to be tough. As hard as it is to hear things like this do happen for a reason. And your Doc deserves cudos for getting in there and seeing what was going on and making the call to let you heal from the band removal. There must have been some damage or he wouldn't have done that. So be thankful if you can that your Doc was so on top of it and that he doing this in two steps may prevent complications you would have had. Thinking of you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
