Surgery: November 1st and I'm down 31 pounds! Doctor said I should average 10lbs a month for the first 6 months.. What!?? She must be mistaking.. Cause I go a week or two of no weight loss.. I eat what's required and walk at least 30 minutes a day. I sure hope I lose like she thinks I will...

I had surgery December 4th. I lost 18 pounds my first week, but this last week it's been fluctuating and not going down. My doc says it's normal. Hang in there! A 31 lb weight loss is still an achievement!!

It doesnt matter how fast you lose as long as you are losing and not gaining

Here is another thought: slower weight lost could be better for the body.

I am a very slow loser too, but I stick to the plan, eat according to plan, and exercise like crazy. At one point the WLS numbers stayed the same but my size went down - go figure. If you stick with the plan you will be a success please don't focus just on the scale numbers other things are happening as well. Good luck and be patient.

I am new to this forum. I had RUX-N-Y on November 20, 2012. So far I have lost 19lbs. Unfortunately, I have gained and lost the same 1lb for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this. I am walking more, taking in more Protein and trying to eat a little more (which is very difficult to do) to try and jump start my weight loss again. I am so afraid that I won't lose anymore weight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HI Katie..we share the same surgery date :) I'm also at 19 lbs..been going up and down for a week...i went for my one month checkup today and was told that is great and keep doing what I'm doing....they were very positive about how much I've lost so I feel better! Was really interesting tho cuz I had to attend a group meeting and I was the only female in the class...nice tO see that men are really addressing their health issues as well

Thank you for all of your support. As of December 27th I am now down 25lbs total. I stalled for about 2 1/2 weeks, but by increasing my Protein and changing up my walking routine, I am dropping again.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
