I could've sworn I saw people on here talking about drinking it. So I bought some. Got home and double checked the label and its 7g of sugar per serving. Is there a different g2 that I don't know about?

I hate Gatorade. I feel it's just too sweet for me.

I dilute all my juice with Water. My nurse said g2 was a good option post op. Powerade also makes a zero calorie drink. It tastes normal to me and it's nice having something with flavor since just water makes me get the foamies.

I drink it all the time. Only one bottle like every other day. Its approved as a drink we can have just dont drink only that. It is good because of keeping your electrolytes balanced.

There is a G2 low cal. I drink it diluted when I need an energy boost but I only can do about 8 oz overall.

The gatorade 2 orange flavor has been the best tasting thing since surgery. I have started diluting it some. I am really bad with plain Water, it has to have something in it. I wish I wasn't like that. I go see the NUT tomorrow I will ask her about this.

I drink g2....slowly. I think the issue is eating something with greater than 5 gms of sugar all at once. Look at 8 oz of soda....divide the sugar by 8....I think its like 27 gms. So that puts you at between 3-4 per ounce...vs.less than 1. At one oz per 10 min....you are near dumping limits per oz on the coke but not with the g2. Diluting is a good idea, but throw ice in it, drink it slow, and it self dilutes. At 20 Cal per serving of 8 oz...it works. For me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
