Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Very Nervous---yikes!

I posted this under the slipped pouch, but thought it should be its own thread....

How about a stretched pouch, or is that just for bypass patients? Does a stretched pouch shrink back to its normal size over time? How can you tell? Can you still be sucessful with a stretched pouch?

I don't know what is wrong, but I just have this feeling that something is wrong....I am so scared, though, to go in and find out (does a barium swallow catch erosion, slips and stretched pouches?) because there is literally no way I can afford another surgery. No chance, even if I tried to take out loans I wouldn't be given them at this point.

I was thinking about switching insurance to one that covers bariatric surgery (although do any cover surgeries when they go back in to fix things?) and then going in for the test.

I'm at my wits end! What should I DO??????????

Go and get checked. Baruim can indeed catch at least some problems.

DH just got unfilled. We went in on Monday, I knew I needed a fill and he thought he did too. Turns out instead he was too tight, and his esophagus was dialated. Which is dangerous beyond any weight loss considerations. So, he's going back in two weeks to see if he's healed up. He was close to a slip, but they are pretty sure he'll be fine after some time. Then they'll work on slowing getting his fill level back up.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
