bbjbbya 7 Posted December 11, 2012 So when I had my lap band placed the thing that hurt the most was the gas pains from the had they use to inflate the stomach. Any tips on what can help minimize the pains????? Thanks
Vicki Loichinger 444 Posted December 11, 2012 Walking is probably the most helpful. The gas x strips that melt on your tongue might help. Also if you can lay on your left side that sometimes helps. But moving and walking is probably the only sure thing and a bit of time.. I was very lucky this time around. With the lap band and with some other surgeries it was awful. But I didn't have the pain that goes up into your shoulder and I started passing gas pretty quickly after surgery.

worm2872 635 Posted December 11, 2012 Moving in different directions carefully. Bringing knees up towards chest, bending over, etc. it hurts and you have to be careful but it moves the gas around and hopefully out.
