mommytonya 77 Posted December 11, 2012 I just got my surgery on the 3rd of december. I am glad i did it but have been feeling weird. I feel like im heavier than before i got the surgery.. I know weird. I have lost weight but feeling even bigger is discouraging im also having a hardtime getting everything i need in throughout the day. Its so hard im constintly full. Also they say not to have sugar but all the Vitamins im getting to takeand the protien shakes have 2-3g sugar in them?? Its so confusing. I just dont wanna get sick. Or when something likeapplesauce says no sugar added is that ok to eat?? Even if it has sugar? Is it just the sugar from the apples. Just so many questions!! My dietician told me 15 gr of sugar no more than, fruit have natuaral sugar that's ok. But you always need to read the label no matter what its not sugar added whan they said no sugar added means its natural sugar. Good luck keep going
mommytonya 77 Posted December 11, 2012 Thanks i have an apt tomorrow i think to get my stitches out. Im going to ask than. Khuff 12 Posted January 1, 2013 I was told that anything I eat has to be 5 sugars or under. I read every label. I haven't pushed it, because I don't want to get sick. Didn't your doctor give you a folder with paperwork that suggested drinks and foods? We got a folder that explained everything. But we also had to test before our surgery so we understood everything. I am willing to help you if you have any questions. I just got my surgery Dec. 18th, but I constantly read and am in tons of support groups. When you don't know something, it can be very frustrating. Hang in there and good luck!
pookybear 284 Posted January 1, 2013 My dietician says no more than 15g of sugar in one item, and no more than 25g total in a sitting. But it depends on what you can tolerate.
erikaloftin 62 Posted January 1, 2013 This is so helpful to read! I'm still pre-op but I never thought about natural sugar. Do any of you experience dumping when you eat fruit? Or is it usually things high in added sugar?
