I am so totally frustrated with my insurance. I just spoke with them. I need to do a 2 week liquid diet prior to my surgery which would be scheduled on the 26th. I would have to start it on the 12th. Can't do that because my packet was submitted on 11-30-2012 and they are saying it will take at least 15 days to get an approval. REALLY! WTHeck. I am so frustrated with them. I could just scream. I have completed everything they required. Just get on with it already. UGH! You would think with paying 1400.00 a month for insurance they would be a little more user friendly. I am so frustrated. The lady said I would probably not get approval before the 21st. FML.

It can be very frustrating waiting on insurance I have to wait two weeks before I My approval and then I started my two week diet liquid diet about two days after I got the approval so everything worked out within the timeframe I need it but it could have easily went the other way so I understand your first ration but Chatot think of the big picture, maybe that will cut down on some of the anticipation and nervousness

Well if they put it off until the 21st that means I would not get my surgery until after the new year . I have already met all of my deductibles for this year. It would totally start me over and I would have to pay more out of pocket. grrrrr.... It just drives me nuts. Now I am going to have to re-budget. what a pain in the butt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
