Fat Calories In My New Diet Plan. Help!

Recommended Posts

My doctor told me my body is holding on to the fat because I'm not getting enough calories and my body thinks I'm starving. So I'm going up from 300 to 700 calories a day. But I'm finding it difficult. I don't know what I should eat. I've increased my calories but the weight is not coming off. I need to be sure everything I eat is healthy. I drink 2 premeir Protein Shakes a day. Then maybe a slice raisin bread in the morning. And at night to meet my calorie requirement I've been eating cup I noodles, tacos, and chimmicungas. I know they arnt good foods but I meet my Protein and calorie requirements. So I'm thinking I need to measure the fat calories in foods. How many fat calories are healthy?

Stay away from the carbs girl!!! Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, almonds, laughing cow cheese, Quest bar, baby bel lights... Better options to name a few!

Protein protein protein. I used to fluff this off but there is a big difference. Over the past two years I have realized carbs slow my weight lost down. I mean the "bad" carbs. Rice, Pasta, potatoes, bread, etc. I lose when I'm over 70 grams per day. Good luck.

So the more Protein, more weight comes off? I had my RNY 15 nov 2012. My wife had the sleeve 15 March 2012, and she pretty much told me I am on mine own.

emt... my doc suggest 70-90 g Protein a day. I do not count calories or fat just protein. Think Atkins diet. DL Coggin has a list of high protein foods.. If you message him he will email it to you. Good luck bud!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
