This mornings weigh in gave me such motivaton to keep on going! I now weigh 299 for the first time in at least 16 years. I simply could not hold back the tears!! It has been a journey' date=' but I must say a very easy one so far. I have had no sickness, I am feeling great and have really started to embrace this new lifestyle with joy. I look forward to my morning workouts, I actually look for extra walking to do around work too! Never in my life would I have thought I'd look for ways to exercise!

I just cannot express how over joyed I am this morning!![/quote']

Congrats!

Wow. That's amazing! Good job to all you user 3's!!! Here is my question. When you are fluffy you never want anyone to know your weight bc no one can imagine being 300+ lbs. so like me, my license lies and says even 300 while I am way over that I won't admit it. Now that you are under 300 will you lie or tell the truth????

I'm so used to the shame of my weight, I cannot bring myself to post it, or even talk in public (like at support group) about what it is or how much I want to lose.

Well.... my drivers license actually says I weigh 260lbs.... guess I thought I was hiding those extra hundred ten lbs!! So I have a 45 lbs till I have to worry about it. But I more than likely wont change it until i renew it in a couple years.

I've always told the truth about my weight bc I wear it well... but I can't wait to be at my goal 150-160 so I can tell the truth with joy instead of regret.

I wouldnt even share with my own Mother how much I weighed prior to surgery....well, I still havent! But this is the only place where I feel comfortable sharing this kind of information. I guess it's because we are all in the same boat. I havent been able to go to a support group local meeting because they are always when I work, but not sure I'd share anything about my actual weight there anyway....dont mind sharing the pounds lost or nonscale victories...but not how much I actually weigh.

I would die if my husband knew I was up to 370lbs! He knows I am a big woman, but I couldnt bare telling him my actual weight!! Hes about 245lbs...so I wanna get lower than him!!

I think my turning point was admitting to my husband how much I weigh. It was such a hard core embarrassment that it made me are I need help and researched the WLS options.

It's horrible how we are all so ashamed.

It's sad. I have had the meanest stuff said to me about my weight. Shame comes with the territory.

Well I am sitting on 348 at the moment and hopefully when I have my surgery in Feb '13 I will be hopefully at 250 this time next year. You are all a Huge inspiration for me.

I don't have Huge Goals and don't expect it to fall off me, but I am gonna take it one day at a time.

I started off at 370....really thought I'd fail at this too....but I am losing! It's ok to make huge goals...you can obtain them! I never thought I'd be below 300 again....and now I am heading to the 280's!

You can do it!! and like you said it's always just one day at a time!! I am excited for your surgery in feb!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
