cab127 65 Posted October 2, 2014 Hi all I am from Brampton, Ontario. I started my wls journey in August 2014. I have completed all the appointments and am not so patiently waiting to get the call to meet the surgeon. I am hopeful to have the surgery soon thereafter. Feeling anxious and nervous but looking forward to a new way of being on this life journey

anewme2015 345 Posted October 3, 2014 Hi all I am from Brampton, Ontario. I started my wls journey in August 2014. I have completed all the appointments and am not so patiently waiting to get the call to meet the surgeon. I am hopeful to have the surgery soon thereafter. Feeling anxious and nervous but looking forward to a new way of being on this life journey Did you mean 2013 or have you gone through the system that fast? I'm awaiting my orientation and I've been given the impression that the weight is 7-10 months?
cab127 65 Posted October 3, 2014 I mean 2014. I was able to reschedule most appointments and completed them with 3 months
brinasl 15 Posted October 3, 2014 Wow....that's great!!!! It took me 9 months and that was with rescheduling! !
Ivanova8 77 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) @@cab127 your really started your weight loss journey in August 2014? How did you manage that??? How were you able to reschedule most of the appointments? You must share your secret. I just had orientation last month so I'm at the very beginning and patience is not my strongest character trait to say the least! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to the length of time each person takes. I think 9 months from orientation to surgery at least is more reasonable. Sort of like giving birth to a new body. =) But three months would be awesome! I hope you get your surgeon appointment soon. Ivanova8 77 Posted October 3, 2014 @@brinasl How did you reschedule your appointments? I had orientation in September then I have an appointment with the social worker at the end of this month and then I meet the nutritionist in February. That's 5 months just to get to the nutritionist! How would you speed that up? With a BMI of 35 I'd love to get this moving in case I drop below the threshold. cab127 65 Posted October 3, 2014 In order to get my appointments rescheduled I called every other day and inquired about cancellations. Luckily I got in and even went twice in one week. I know they can also try to schedule two appointments on one day if there is an opening

Ivanova8 77 Posted October 3, 2014 @@cab127 Excellent! Thank you. They didn't get annoyed with you calling every other day!? I'm almost afraid that they would penalize me for being too pro active. But, I'm going to do it right now. This is a very long process left to it's own devices so anything to shorten it would be a major plus. Let the calling begin!
