Success! My social worker meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday instead of being at the end of the month. That's a very nice improvement. Thanks cab127.

The staff person I spoke to was really nice and helpful. She asked about my other appointments too. The nurse meeting only moved up one month but she said to call back each week and keep checking.

@@brinasl How did you reschedule your appointments? I had orientation in September then I have an appointment with the social worker at the end of this month and then I meet the nutritionist in February. That's 5 months just to get to the nutritionist! How would you speed that up? With a BMI of 35 I'd love to get this moving in case I drop below the threshold.

Keep calling ......there are always cancellations ....keep calling to rebook and /or double up!!!!

@@brinasl Oh yes, I must remember to ask about doubling up when possible. Good reminder.

In order to get my appointments rescheduled I called every other day and inquired about cancellations. Luckily I got in and even went twice in one week. I know they can also try to schedule two appointments on one day if there is an opening

I'm waiting to hear abt my orientation appointment. Would it be an appointment that I can check for cancelations or is what you're talking about more for the appointments after orientation? And thks for the advice.

Where did you have the sleeve done? How has your healing been? All good- I hope. :) Did ohip cover it and if so what was your wait time from the dr referral to the Bariatric centre to the surgery? Sorry to inundate you with questions- it's just rare that I find someone from Ontario!

I got a new phone.....forgot my password....lost all our conversations. ..I'm back...lol

I am from Windsor. I had my surgery in Michigan and paid out of pocket. I am 11 days post op and having lots of nausea and heartburn. Just started on meds to help with this. Also, having difficulty getting my required Protein and fluids in. Improving little by little.

Congrats on the surgery. Hoping you start feeling better soon. I didn't know you could have the surgery across the border, good for you. Hope the healing gets better.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
