I am sorry you are going through this. I am a month post op and I a scared I stretched my pouch because where most are saying they can only get a bite or two in I am eating like a 1/4 to 1/2 cup each meal. but I do have to stop myself because I still don't get that full feeling or I just don't know how to recognize it.

I'm the same way...

You all that are only surviving on cheese and potatoes need to go to your doctor. I had a severe stricture after being sleeved in nov of 2011. I tried the esophagus stretching three times with little relief. It had to be fixed surgically. I had a bypass in August of 2012. The stricture was low enough the bypass should have fixed it. I was surviving off Doritos and peanut m&ms until this year. I was very sick. Do I regret it? No would have waited so long for second surgery. Go get it fixed now don't live miserably like I did. I threw up everything that went into my mouth. Even most liquids wouldn't pass through the closed stricture. Had to hit it at the right time. I stayed nauseated and exhausted.

I did go today for endoscopy and he dilated me. said I was too tight. and I thought just because I wasn't vomiting every time a ate or drank it couldn't have been a stricture. so lets hope it helps

I have a stricture too but 7 dilutions and 3 metal 10 inch long stent have not helped! Does anyone know any dr who understands all this. You can message me privately at bethintexas@me.com.

It's not really painful' date=' I just don't understand why I can eat some soft foods and then others make me vomit everytime! Just frustrated and trying to get enough Protein in is really hard when the shakes make me sick, I'm to the point now that the powder is to expensive to waste if I can't drink them!!! Ugh!!! I know I can't live off of laughing cow cheese and mashed potatoes but it seems that is all I can keep down![/quote']

Be ware of mashed for carbs.

try yogurt, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, low fat lunch meats, scrambled eggs

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
