I am just numb. I am on my way to the hospital at 6pm UMPC Greenville PA, Dr. Christopher Meyers my surgeon.... prep starts at 7:30am, surgery at 9:30am I cannot believe I am really doing this, but I have God on my side and if it is his will I see all of my surgery buddies on the losing side. God bless and good luck and a speed recovery and no complications and after surgery we can move from pre-op to post-op. I am praying for us all:

Kloveburd - Jan 14

TLP1212 - Jan 14

I have my surgery is on Wednesday the January 16th. I was in high gear anxiety mode on Saturday what was fine yesterday. Today I want to finish packing, paying bills, making a last minute phone calls to doctors offices, etcetera. I also want to make sure I have a good grocery list for my husband. Tomorrow I spend in the bathroom lol and then Wednesday will be here before I know it! My only fear at this point is of picking up the flu well I'm in the hospital. I swear I have never gone to the hospital without being sicker when I left!

Hello all... Had surgery 1-9' date=' got home saturday from hospital. I had to stay an extra night cause I started running a fever. Was on HBP meds before surgery but had extreme low BP post surgery. So I came home off my BP meds. Wow!! I am having pain, trying to stay on top of my meds so it doesnt get bad. The worst thing so far is the phlegm you get in your chest/throat. You have to get it up and it hurts to do so. I can not swallow pills very well because if it. My tastebuds are whacked (anyone else?) Everything is absolutely gross. I just been trying to get Water in. Hows everyone else from surgery last week? R u on liquids? ?[/quote']

Happy everything went well for you! I had to stay and extra night too, my heart rate was irregular and in the 160's when I walked. That's cool no BP meds! The phlegm is gross but the pillow trick works, just put it over your belly! Gatorade was disgustingly sweet so I stayed away from it! I'm doing sugar free luigi Italian ice and water, tried broth but could only get 2 oz in then I was nauseous! Do you have diarrhea? I know that's a lot of info but I have had it since Saturday and its not going away

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
