If I don't get better, I'll be there tomorrow night. But I had 90oz of fluids today, not counting Popsicles, lol. I had about 6 of them. 90oz fluids not including 48g Protein. How the heck did I do it????

Fell better Jodi :-)

I just don't know how you are dehydrated. You are doing awesome with your Water and protein intake. Good Luck, Gen!

My doc office suggested the sugar free energy drinks to get the electrolytes. You may be flushing them all out with so much water.

Wash with liquid antibacterial soap and rinse in the shower. Pat dry then let air dry. Call your surgeon when they open and get it checked out.

Girl, I have taken a nap everyday post op! I am not a nap person, but I get worn out. The other day I fell asleep at 2 and woke up when it was dark outside. Your body is running a marathon inside as it heals. Your systems are working crazy hard to heal up all the cutting and stitching inside. Take your nap. I'm sure the fatigue will go as our bodies heal.

I'm 18 days po and I've started having these sharp pains in my side when I bend a certain way. Now it hurts there when I urinate, laugh, take a deep breath, even stand from sitting. It all started after my last bm. Anyone else have this? I'm thinking of heading to the er later today. I'm so tired of taking pain meds ugh!! Sorry to vent but this really frustrates me!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
