OMG!! Just wanna share' date=' I have lost so far 41 lbs. since my highest weight, about 23 lbs since surgery on the 13th! YAY! I also took my measurements at 313 lbs and then again today and I lost a ton of inches all over! Not trying to toot my own horn but sooo excited!! If ya'll haven't already, do your measurements and weights and re-do them periodically! Makes you feel good to look back on. ") Also, praying for all of you having problems/complications. I truly think a lot of it, like you guys said, is our bodies undergoing such rapid changes. And lastly, how the h#ll do you actually update your ticker? I go to my ticker and it says edit, delete, but it won't let me update my current weight. Help! Lol.[/quote']

You toot away girl. How are you doing on your liquids and Protein? I added FF milk back into my shakes and I can tolerate it now or so it seems. However since I haven't lost a pound in 5 days, but actually gained a pound :-( I don't understand it, it's weird. I'm getting the Water, the protein, walking, i keep a journal of everything that goes in and its between 300-500 cals a day. But what else can I do, but keep chugging away at it and hopefully will start losing. I'm kind of worried that I might have stretched the pouch I know we've discussed this on here and at the liquid stage it is somewhat hard to but hell. I sip everything. I can tell when something doesn't agree w me cuz I will feel ill, and quickly tired which clears up after 20-30 minutes. But that's it. I can't for my wait for my follow up. Maybe stress is causing it. Darn stress!!!

Yeah. I wouldn't worry to awful much about the gaining a pound cause when I was weighing everyday I was up a pound, down a pound. It was kinda driving me nuts. Then I went four days without weighing and I was down 6, so I guess there is some truth to the trying not to weigh everyday, you know? And as far as liquids, I'm good on those, protein not so much. My best day so far has been about 32 grams. :( But my Unjury is supposed to be here today and I'm also going to Walmart to grab some of those Protein Shots. My nut said just plug my nose and down one or two a day if I'm having trouble with getting all the protein in. So, that is my plan for that and I'm hoping it works out! Other than that, no real problems except headaches and needing to nap more often, which I didn't have a headache yesterday and hope I don't get one today! The tiredness I believe is either my lack of protein or just my body healing and needing rest, I dunno, but I can nap like nobody's business lemme tell ya! Lol. Also wanted to say I'm sorry for all your going through, as I know this change is stressful enough without the extras! Keep your head up though girl! You seem to be doing a great job and I know personally you've been such a help to me on here and I'm sure many others. If you ever need any support, weight loss surgery, or otherwise, message me and we can exchange email addresses. Can never have too many people in your corner to vent to! Sorry, looks like I'm writing a book! Lol. Here's to a good day today and good luck for everyone with surgery coming up this week!! We can do it!! ")

Well it's been determined that I'm mildly dehydrated, go figure. I drink 60 oz + of liquid (flavored water) a day and I'm still dehydrated. My body isn't digesting the Water like it does for other people. I guess my system must be difficult, lol so have to give up some Proteins to get even more water. I think it's a little funny and odd.

Please, if you can, send up a prayer for SimplySouthern. She had had a very hard time since her November surgery. In and out of the hospital and feeling pretty bad. She is back in the hospital. We are all awaiting to hear how she is doing. Pray, ohm, mediate... Whatever your flavor, lets lift her up.

Tomorrow I go for my first post-surgery check-up and food class since I am suppose to be able to move to puréed foods. So excited as I am so tired of this liquid phase. I have been on it since Dec 3. I had surgery on the 17th. I lost 10 lbs since starting the liquids before surgery and I've lost 6 since the 17th. I know that isn't huge but it's 16 less than I had and I have always lost slowly. I can't wait to get to add new foods to my diet. I never thought puréed chicken would sound so good!!!!!

It is crazy. I've had 60 oz Water today and finishing up 16 oz chicken broth. 2 Popsicles, and will probably have another 16 oz broth, thank goodness I bought FF and low sodium.

You probably should if u need it. I know you've had difficulty getting the fluids in. Maybe they can help you out and rehydrate you. It will make you feel better, plus maybe you will come out being able to get more liquids down on your own.

Lol. I was thinking of some nice chicken breast earlier, yumm. My post op is on the 2nd, so far away it seems. I can't wait to have chicken, even puréed at this point.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
