I am stalling big time since my gallbladder surgery in December. Going back to liquids will not help. We just have to let our bodies heal

Wasn't doing it cuz stalled. Only cuz I'm have a difficult time handling food since hysterectomy and hospitalizations since. Sry misread, I get what you're saying.

Can you try soft foods? You really need something with some oomph to keep your energy up and not to get malnutritioned

Seriously thinking about going back to the basics: liquid diet. With this last surgery knocking me on my butt' date=' while I'm still trying to recover, I'm not sure what else to do :-(

They do recommend that when needed.... Good luck!

Help!!! My hair is coming out like crazy! I am freaking out! Any advice you guys have heard from your doctor or nut? I know it comes with anesthesia' date=' but this is crazy!![/quote']

Take extra hair vitamins.... They were suppose to start u on it prior to surgery...... It's is also part of the surgery effects because your body processes less nutrients.. I double up now and alway keep my hair up.

Ok. I have been on the diet the nut suggested on Fri. Reduced calories to around 600 and I am fluctuating at the same points- up and down the same pound and a half. I was hoping to see at least a bit of movement downward if even a tenth of a pound. I am going on 6 weeks on this stall and have not seem a change in clothes except a bit looser. This diet was suppose to also help regulate bowel but that hasn't happened either. I soooo need something positive to keep me going. With no weight loss, the medical issues aren't improving and I can eat anything. I rarely get a full signal until I have eaten way too much. So I'm basically dieting and am beginning to wonder how long I can keep this up. Any stall breaking suggestions???

At my last appointment I was told by both my nurse pract and NUT that if I don't get enough Protein and liquid, it would cause a greater Hair loss, and at 4-6 weeks it is about the time when it begins. If you are not already, start taking Biotin. You can also use Shampoo and conditioner with biotin, or hair products specifically made for hair loss. They sell them at salons and beauty supply places. Not sure how often you wash your hair or if that effects the hair loss, but you can lesson the pulling on your hair by brushing it out using a large wide toothed comb starting from the bottom of the strands, working your way to the top of your head. Using heat on it less such as blow dryers, straightners and curling irons also helps keep hair healthy.

I know it's stressful, and I may need you to point my own post out to me when I start going through this, but try not to stress about it too much because that will also make it worse. You can always change your hairstyle, and I was told it does grow back. Sorry you're going through this, it's one of the side affects I'm most scared of-mine is already fine.

I'm so sorry for the problems you've been having. It would be very discouraging. I haven't checked my weight in a while due to all the in n outs of the hospital. I swear I put on 16-20 lbs of Water weight each time due to IVs which takes a while to lose.

If you haven't I think I would speak to Surgeon to ask him what he believes the problem could be. Maybe there is testing he could do. Are you on any meds right now that you have out grown or could be taken off. If I recall you had the issue w synthroid and other meds/supplements at the same time.

I believe I found my problem w eating meats. Cold meats, I don't seem to have a problem w. However, once warmed such as turkey it reacts different. How odd. I'm sure it is one of those things that will change, hopefully.

Let's celebrate!! God heard my desperation as the scale was down 1.2 lbs this morning. It's a small loss but at this point it is a major step for me. So glad I didn't deviate from the plan. It is certainly a bit of motivation and I'll take it wherever I can.

Gen, thank you so much for your support. I talked to the surgeon and he sent me to the nut. He didn't seem too concerned. The nut is the one who changed the way I took my synthroid so maybe it took time for that to kick in. After all you have been through I shouldn't be complaining.

I finally reached onederland with a 4 pound loss. Yea me! This weight loss is really slow. Much slower than I ever expected. I was 222 at surgery on 12/5/12. So I have lost 26 pounds in 12weeks. I am NOT complaining, just want to share.

Congrats!! I understand slow and am so glad for your loss. It sure helps with the motivation when the scale moves even a little. Congrats on onederland!! That's a milestone.

I can eat something this week and next week it will make me sick. This is definately a battle of uncertainty.

I just ate an Atkins Protein Bar for dinner (I'm at school and will eat a more proper dinner later) but I think it's weird how some they classify as a meal and some are just snack. I had the chocolate Peanut Butter one. It's really good. It has 17g Protein, 2 carbs, 14g fat & 250 calories. What do y'all think about that fat/calorie count? It's higher than what I usually eat but is it too high? If it's supposed to be a meal is it not too bad? So far no dumping symptoms, but I don't want to keep eating them if they're too high in fat/cals.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
