one4ozzie 434 Posted January 28, 2013 Miss impatient' date=' well 1 wk out they thought I had a stricture, after being admitted to the hospital and waiting for 2 wks, they decided to operate again and found it wasn't a stricture, but a kink in my intestine. After that I went in again for pain and nausea and was there 4 days for swelling in the intestine that was blocking liquids from emptying out of my pouch. I have been home a week now, and so far so good. How has ur experience been?[/quote'] That is quite the experience. I'm glad you made it thru and are on the other side of it. Thank goodness Gen :-) 12/15/
Chiwinacruz 6 Posted January 28, 2013 Yeah me and Protein don't seem to get along. Doc really isn't pushing too hard on it until I can tolerate it since I've had all these issues. I feel like I'm constantly forcing myself to eat and have noticed a horrid taste/odor in my mouth. But I too am glad that all my issues are behind me now. Thanks and the best to you guys!!! Eating: yep I do get hungry but to eat 3 meals a day is difficult plus get all the liquids in. It's tough and NEW. I think the newness is what I'm trying to get used too. I'm ok with 2 meals, but3 really pushes it right now. Just happy you're on the other side now :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12 1 mrsblues reacted to this

ready2smile 138 Posted January 29, 2013 asking the december and january post-op groups: have any of you had trouble with bloody noses? i got one last night while getting sick and i've neever had one before. i'd opened a can of low fat hormel turkey chili, added a little greek yogurt and cheese to it, took about three bites and was immediately sick. i know i took the 1st two bites too quickly (i'd waited too long to eat and was hungry), i didn't chew it enough and paid for it. not much more than phlem, air and bubbles came up, but the runny nose started in instantly and so did the blood. it took a little longer to stop and i still have the runny nose. not sure if i'm fighting a cold or it's a sign of something else. i've had turkey since surgery, beef and cheese as well. the only thing different was the greek yogurt. i'm not really questioning the food, it's more the bloody and runny nose. -oh, it also started me on a stupid crying jag. felt like a big baby

Keep up the good work, stay hydrated, the Protein going, and most of all try to remain positive and in as good as health as possible. You are strong so just keep going. Just remember we will hit stalls, I hate them and yes they are mentally challenging. But we've been given the best tool we can possibly have within us, our new pouch. Just keep saying to yourself positive thoughts. We are all here for you. You will succeed!!!!!! Gen :-) 12/15/
