lolawaiting 83 Posted January 16, 2013 I think i lost my way on the every 2 week switch up. I think the 2 weeks after surgery was supposed to be full liquid only. Which i think was water' date=' shakes, cream Soup, popsicles, SF of course on all pudding and Jello. Then after you have your 2 week post op appt you go into soft and puree foods. This is where you blend up your fat free foods. Refried Beans, scrambled or poached eggs. oatmeal, cream of wheat. I think most doctors want you on this 2 to 4 weeks before introducing the solids. I could be wrong please correct me? I know i am on day 14 post op. i have already did refried beans, string cheese, i even had a small portion of a smart one entree. That had meat and veggies. Rest of the time its been jello pudding lots of Water and those crappy shakes. I think i have ruined it for myself. Its those flipping food commercials on TV, lol dammit!!![/quote'] My doc had me do full liquids (cream Soups, Protein Shakes, could have done yogurt and jello but anything semi solid scared me lol) for 10 days- till my first post op. Then he said puréed for a week (I did more like 6 days ) and soft foods (fork mushable worthy) for a mandatory 2 weeks no less. He has stuff like mash potatoes on his list of okay, but I won't touch em. That was my before life. I'm teaching myself to love Protein or as my boss use to tell me during my first year teaching- fake it till you make it! The commercials don't bother me so much. When I see them I think of all the times I've eaten way more of those things then I ever should have. I've had my fill. And I know one day I can have a bite or two of most of those things, so they're not gone FOREVER. It's just the massive amounts that are gone. And most importantly, I think about how much torture I have put my body through... With weight gain and now massive surgery. I need time to heal. I have to do this plan like my doc says or else. Complications happen even when you do everything right. We've seen all the wonderful people on here that are going through hell for no good reason. Don't give it extra ammo to happen to you. And every time I see that number go down on the scale... It's totally worth liquids, puréed, soft foods and protein shakes for a couple months. Crunch will come one day. The feeling I have now... The difficulty I have staying still... The urge to walk, run, dance every where. The energy. I've never had that before... Screw milk, protein does a body good! Maybe I can stop faking it soon... I think I've almost made it 4 one4ozzie, MyTimeToLose, Redoableme and 1 other reacted to this
lolawaiting 83 Posted January 16, 2013 I did it guys!!!!! 700 calories' date=' 61g Protein (my nut only requires 60), and will be at 32oz of Water before bed. Water could be better, but this is my best day so far. Not to mention my potassium symptoms are gone and I've successfully completed 2 days of nursing school. (Was terrified of failing due to not feeling well) AND I got my first THREE iv attempts in the first try. I'm amazing <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote'] Great job!!!

lolawaiting 83 Posted January 16, 2013 Here's my dinner tonight... Shaved pepper mill turkey (measured out an ounce and half didnt come close to finishing), skim mozz and reduced fat cheese cus I couldn't decided- think the cheddar is better, and some garlic hummus dip. It was yum (like my plate says haha) but I won't put the plate away yet... I might nibble some more a little later 1 Vicki Loichinger reacted to this
ginsyn76 51 Posted January 16, 2013 Um I wonder why no almond milk? I saw in the store an unsweetened one it had 40 calories I think. I will ask my dr and nut about it on Friday when I go for my eight week check up
Redoableme 60 Posted January 16, 2013 My nut likes almond milk too. It's also good for my kidneys. My fitness pal is ReDoableMe I'm so very happy for this group! one4ozzie 434 Posted January 16, 2013 Question: I am on pureed/soft foods. I have been eating tuna and canned chicken w a little bit of mayo to keep it moist. Think it is ok to add some hard boiled egg?? I do :-) Gen :-) 12/15/
one4ozzie 434 Posted January 16, 2013 Hey all' date=' wondering how you guys are doing in terms of calories each day? I'm about a month post-op and was very hungry today. Been up since 7:30a and had 760 cals so far! I haven't eaten this much since surgery! Is this normal? I have an ulcer and I'm so freaked out that it perforated or something. I dunno if this surgery was good for me! My anxiety is about off the hook! I worry too much about everything! Lol.[/quote'] I've hit high 600s occasionally :-) Gen :-) 12/15/
