dhalpine 22 Posted December 19, 2012 Ughhh feeling bad today. Been sick all day and cold. Anyone experienced this? I felt terrible a couple of days ago and I was sick, had a UTI. I feel back to my perky self today after the antibiotics kicked in.
dhalpine 22 Posted December 19, 2012 I miscalculated a day, forgot which day I was on but was only the 4 days. I believe it was mainly due to the weekend surgery. The drain is a bulb, called the JP drain, it drains stuff from I side the abdomen. If I had an incision leak then it would fill up quickly or the color of the Fluid that was drank. (From what I was told) :-) Dec 15th New me and life begins My doctor put in a wick drain and she pulled it the day I was discharged...it didnt feel the greatest when she pullled it out. lisamcgowin 60 Posted December 19, 2012 Did you eat egg beaters ? I tried and didn't care for the taste . I had a regular egg Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012
lisamcgowin 60 Posted December 19, 2012 My nutritionist said that I would only be able to tolerate half of an egg for awhile. Belching is a sign that you are full since we dont have any nerves to tell us to stop Im so happy for you Congrats! Thank you! Yep, half an egg and I started belching so I stopped. I had the other half for dinner.< /p> Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012
MyTimeToLose 41 Posted December 19, 2012 So I tried some new foods today since I don't work tomorrow. Cottage cheese, lowfat, went well. Although I could only eat a little since it filled me up fast. I tried Sugar Free Chocolate pudding, only a couple bites, never again, that was a horrible experience even though it tasted good I tried some clam chowder blended which I have always loved, but 2 tbls in I was sick, felt like I had to vomit but couldn't, so suffered for about 30 minutes. My supper I went easy on myself since I didnt want diarrhea again, so stuck to the Protein Shake with a little Decaf coffee and ice, was good What foods have you tried that have not been good? bakawaka 108 Posted December 19, 2012 I had a regular egg Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012 I deliberately eat the entire egg to get the nutrition from the yolk.
bakawaka 108 Posted December 19, 2012 Spicy foods do not agree with my new stomach. Spicy foods make me nauseous. Bland foods are not a problem as long I chew them thoroughly before swallowing.

So far I can tolerate vanilla and Caramel SF pudding, SF Jello, I have put two tablespoons of Peanut Butter in my shakes and blended it, I can only tolerate soy, almond, and coconut milk thats unsweetened, CarbMaster yogurt from Kroger and thats all for now. You may have to watch out for some of the white or creamy type Soups because of the carbs and sugar...I cant handle anything that is creamy...clear broth soups without the noodles is that way I go. I would try some cheese and scrambled egg, egg salad (fat free mayo, pickles, and boiled egg) pureed together, you can do the same thing with tuna. This following website is awesome..I have learned so much from it. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
