Redo

can you lay on your left side at all. if you can lay on your left side with left leg straight and right leg bent, that has helped me in past operations. A forever ago maternity nurse told me that trick, after a c-section and it has served me well...Old Broad new what she was talking about. lol

Today is crazy! I went ahead and worked today because I am going to miss my students so much!! I drank the magnesium citrate stuff and am playing the waiting game now. I think today everything set in a little more. I am nervous about everything becoming really real tomorrow. I am praying for you and everyone else that surgery and recovery goes well. I will definitely keep in touch and am so excited about all of this!!

Yes! I'm not really nervous anymore. It's weird. But I'm sure that'll all change tomorrow am! I will be praying for us tomorrow and for everyone else going thru this as well and I'll update when I can. I go in tomorrow at 10am.

3 days postop and tried baby food today and it went well. I am already on a soft diet after doing the 2 week liquid diet prior per my doctor. I am afraid to try other things on the list like cottage cheese, but I am on the soft diet for 2 weeks so I have time. Strange how I can only eat 1/2 of the baby food container and not be hungry. The liquid diet was torture I was so hungry, so now it is nice that I am not. i have to remind myself to eat most of the time. How are all my fellow postop people doing?

But ill take it they finally said I could go home because I kept having very high blood pressure from stressing because not being with my boys and husband

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
