Just wanted to share I ate my first food today. I had a scrambled egg. It was great. No troubles at all. I didn't feel full or anything so that has me wondering what is up. Everyone seems to say one bite and they are done. Do you think my pouch is still healing so I don't feel food yet? Just going through the usual worries we all have I guess in the beginning. Anyone feel things may be going a little too easy sometimes?

Lucky you! I can't handle eggs yet...hurts my stomach. I am in the pureed stage and have yet to feel full. I slowly eat small amounts and stop when the time limit is up. I get an uncomfortable gassy feeling sometimes but i honestly don't remember what it feels like to physically be full.

i had my surgery on Nov. 2nd. I was allowed to start my pureed diet early. So at the 7 day mark when I should have been starting full liquids, i started pureed, due to being in the hospital. I am still on pureed foods and will be starting soft foods within the week or so. I can tell it is getting easier. I just need to make sure I am taking my time while eating. It does seem like it is getting easier. But you can also tell very quick when you pushed yourself to fast or too hard with eating. I have not tried eggs yet. I am afraid to after reading everything on here about how people could not handle eggs. I think I am going to try it tonight. I am back to work on Monday and that would be nice to have with me for work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
