Hi All ~

I had my gallbladder removed last Monday. I'm doing really well. To be honest, though, it was horrible Tuesday through Friday. I'm not sharing in search of anything. I'm sharing because I waited a long time - a few months - to address the symptoms and I want to advise that you not do the same!

Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain - I just figured that I'd just had RNY so of course I feel this way! My DOS was 5/30/12. Don't ever assume what you're feeling is par for the course! Talk to your Doctors. Trying to get through last weekend so I could have a scheduled cholecystectomy instead of an emergent chole was very hard. Don't put yourself in my shoes.

I hope you feel better soon !!! My gallbladder had to be removed 10 wks after my RNY. I never had symptons except for one day I had a horrible GB attack, I thought I was having a heart attack !!! I called my RNY surgeon they said it sounded like GB so I had a ultrasound and sure enough I had "lots" of stones that were their prior to RNY. I wish I would of known that because I would have had him remove my GB while he was in there. My advise is if you are PRE OP and your insurance with pay for ultrasound I would have the GB tested BEFORE surgery... its is soooooo much easier. I was starting to feel really good, started exercising etc. etc then BAM another surgery which set me back 6 wks. Now I am 7 months RNY post op and doing fantastic!!! Hope you feel better soon.

I had an ultra sound pre - op and the nurse who did it pressed really hard on my gall bladder to get a good image ( which happen to show lots of stones) i think by pressing so hard she dislodged one as i had in the next 10 days 3 attacks . Luckily i mentioned it to my surgeon on the day of surgery. So he removed at the same time as doing my lap band to gastric bypass! Buy 2 get 1 free operation! Lol
