Looking Forward To . . .

Recommended Posts

Here's some things I'm looking forward to after surgery. Please add yours too!

  • Buying clothes that don't have an X or W in the size
  • Not stressing about seatbelts on airplanes
  • Crossing my legs!!
  • Buying cute bras and matching panties
  • Not struggling to get socks and undies on
  • Working out at gym like i used to
  • Participating in 5K (or more) again
  • Not huffing and puffing from car to work
  • Seeing my neck again
  • Painting my own toenails (well I do like a good pedi but to have the option to do it myself would be nice)
  • No longer unintentionally knocking things off the table, etc. with my butt
  • Feeling good!

All of the above plus...

Not having to worry about fitting in booths

Being able to have a laptop on my lap

Being able to comfortably move down aisles in an airplane

Weighing less than my husband!

Getting rid of some of my joint pain

those are two very good lists

i will add to those

hold my grandchildren on my lap (you know the one that doesn't see, to be there right now)

carry my youngest grandchild more than a couple of feet without having to put him down.

taking a nice long walk and enjoying it

have motivation to paint again

accept more invitations to things instead of being such a homebody.

Rollar coaster.

Water park rides.

tights or nylons NOT from Lane Giant.

anything BUT fragrances from Victoria Secret.

boots.

a belt.

i dream of a columbia jacket size “L"

wearing my husbands sweatshirt and having it too big

wearing a pair of stilettos and not looking like a beer keg on stilts.

"Lane Giant"

I love it! LOL

All of the above ladies, plus the not getting overlooked at an interview even though I have better credentials.

Whoohoooo. I did not really comprehend how far I've come until I realized I have or can do almost everything on the above lists, except cute bras and panties and the 5 K run! Wow. I remember posting on what I wanted on a post just like this, wondering at the time if it would ever happen! Here it is 5 months later and just wow! I should go find they list and see how I'm doing.

I look forward to being able to carry my daughter without my ankles giving out. She has CP and cannot walk. I have fallen with her in my arms 3 times due to my ankles or a knee giving out. Thankfully she has never been hurt. She is only 34lbs and I worry about what I will do when she gets older and heavier.

And all of the above that everyone else wrote.

Oh and not looking weird in lingerie with thigh high hose!!!

"Oh and not looking weird in lingerie with thigh high hose!!! "

for the record - even the tiny girls look like sausages stuffed into thigh highs - the secret is getting a large enough size - they sell those at Torrid and I’ve been known to put a size 6 in a 2x torrid thigh high.

I agree but I got a big booty naturally so that won't change. I wanna add getting on roller coasters..... and I just don't like having huge arms and a big belly.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
