Weightloss Without Execrise

Recommended Posts

Wait, before you judge or say - active lifestyle blah blah. I know I know! This is not by choice. Im not able to exercise daily because of fibromyalgia and severe Migraines (I'm on medication for both). I usually make it to 1 or 2 miles per week and a few minutes of Zumba. So I can only exercise 3 times a week. I feel like I'm doomed to gain my weight back if I don't exercise. I want to know if anyone was able to keep the weight off with just controlling your food intake?

I have fibro as well, granted I am only 12 days out, I'm walking about 4 miles a day, but not all at once, I also have found several diet tweaks online about how diet changes can help alleviate some of the fibro pain. Getting enough sleep and enough Water and enough Protein (just like a gastric bypass patient) is very important to fibro maintenance as well. I would look online at the diet suggestions and try a few out, hope this helps mylove <3

I'm curious about this too. I'm at End Stage Renal Disease and, long story short, I sleep 12-14 hours a day. My drs seem to think RNY will make things better, but I don't see how this will give me any more energy to start exercising.

I have rhuematoid arthitis and exercising is an important part of this process. I know it is hard when we are in flares, but getting in any exercise will help the body. Every little bit counts, and the last thing you want to do is give into the disease. It is true that once you start exercising you will feel better, but I will admit that we all have those days where we must rest. Remember always listen to your body and let it guide you.

I have fibro as well. Aquacize is a great work out for anyone with an autoimmune disease.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
