Iced Tea Dilema

Recommended Posts

This southern girl loves her iced tea. Which I used to make by boiling up a simple syrup( sugar ,water, Lipton) I've since switched to the Decaf and Splenda. Which is fine when the tea is pre made. Like the way they serve it up at restaurants. My problem is at home. It's not the same any suggestions

Just throwing this out there, wonder if an Ice tea maker might make a better brew. I know what you mean about making it at home. Or if you try another sweetener like the truvia.

Snaple also has a diet tea with peach. I actually liked it until the cold started wearing off.

I too am a southern girl who loves her sweet tea! I make my tea in a pot on the stove- old school lol, I put Splenda in the pitcher, not good at measuring, so somewhere btwn .5 & 1 in from bottom, then I pour the hot tea in & stir. Add some ice & cold Water to top it off. I make it all the time & everyone loves it, they don't even notice it's Splenda ;)

Nestea Zero. This is a Coke product. Probably not available south of the border tho. I'm pretty sure it's only available in Canada. I'm enjoying one right now.

I work for Nestlé. We have 3 brands of iced tea. Nestea, Sweet Leaf, and Tradewinds. They all have diet teas, though none are caffeine free. Tradewinds also has an unsweetened tea that you could sweeten with Splenda or liquid stevia to your liking.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
