Isopure For Post Op Clear Liquid Diet?

Recommended Posts

Is Isopure considered a clear liquid for purposes of the clear liquid post op diet? I have never used Isopre. But it sounds like a way to get in Protein and Water at the same time. It seems to be protein water. When I called my surfeon's office and described it to them, they said it sounds okay. It has zero carbs. It is sweetened with sacral owe. On another website, I saw that one surgeon's opinion is that isopure must be diluted with 50% water in order to be drunk during the post op clear liquid diets take. What are your experiences? Is there a good reason to dilute it? All thoughts are welcome.

My doctor reccomend this also. I tried it and it did not sit well at all. I have only thrown up once and it was when I drank the Isopure clear. But, everyone is different and reacts in their own way. You may have no problem.

I should specify- Isopure makes many different Protein drinks. The one I had the problem with was the Zero Carb that comes in a glass bottle and looks like juice.

That is one I bought - comes in bottles in different flavors. Idea: try diluting with Water to make it go down more easily. I bought the green tea flavor.
