Lisa Collom 184 Posted December 3, 2012 Rough day with some buyer's remorse moments. I haven't felt even close to decent since the surgery. I am living on sugar free Popsicles and tiny sips of Water. The spoonful of yogurt I tried made me miserable. I managed a short walk around the block. I've only lost 6 lbs since surgery. Please tell me this gets better because I feel horrible. peachee213 67 Posted December 3, 2012 Are you feeling better now? Hey! I'm doing good and feeling better thanks. I have a slight pain on my upper left side. Started a few moments ago. Not too bad just uncomfortable. Calling my Doc about that in morning. How are you all? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

honeydue29 38 Posted December 3, 2012 Is anyone use to their new lifestyle yet? Each day is getting easier for me but I still have that feeling that i will never get use to this.
worm2872 635 Posted December 3, 2012 We are all so new at this. We will get used to it and things will progress that will make it all easier. Everyday I feel a little bit better. I know I will have rough days but the good days give me hope. I'm two weeks today from my RNY and one from my stricture surgery and I feel pretty good. Puréed foods scare the hell out of me. I should be cleared for them tomorrow. Hang in there!

I completely sympathize! Let me start by saying I am feeling much better, but the first few weeks were absolutely awful. At one point I ended up back in the hospital for dehydration and begged the coordinator to reverse my surgery. I have been told the 1st 5 wks are awful, so just know it does get better. Hang in there!
littlepieface 15 Posted December 3, 2012 I had my surgery on Nov 14th and have lost 20 lbs. But now I'm stuck and haven't lost anything in a week. I'm doing everything right, but it's like my body is trying to hold on to every pound. Anyone else having this problem?
FatFreeinNC 22 Posted December 3, 2012 Littlepieface, Yesss! My surgery was Nov 13th and I've been stuck for two weeks! I'm also doing everything right and to a T so I'm getting frustrated!! You're not alone....
bakawaka 108 Posted December 3, 2012 Mine was 27. It's getting better. Just have high expectations i am 5 nights and 6 days post op. I'm still on pain medication and have a feeling I will be for quite awhile. Pain is just part of the process. This might sound corny but it works: try to focus on something else. Think about something that makes you happy. Make a list of what there is to be grateful for. These types of activities are helping me distract myself from the pain and soreness that the pain medication is unable to get rid of. I'm sorry that you are feeling pain (and sorry that I am feeling pain). I wish you the greatest of success!

I've been instructed to start my full liquid diet (but to take it easy). I'm just not going to worry about weight loss - I just want to get well and recover from surgery and then focus on the weight loss. I am wishing you the greatest of success. 1 worm2872 reacted to this

worm2872 635 Posted December 3, 2012 It will come off. Our bodies are just well, pissed. We have really abused them and now we are basically starving. I know they say patience is a virtue but its very difficult. :-). 1 sky reacted to this
bakawaka 108 Posted December 3, 2012 just some ideas: (1) every day think at least one happy thought; (2) think about something to be grateful for - this will help refocus the thoughts. This is the approach I am trying. 2 worm2872 and sky reacted to this
