I will measure out a cup of Soup to cook it. Buti never come close to ever finishing it. Probably half is what I eat if that. I'm always nervous about stretching my pouch. Had orange juice for the 1st time got really sick. And I've gotten sick of

A couple other things to. If You eat to much it will come up.

Oj was one thing I was told to steer clear of but I'm not a big fan anyway...basicallY avoid any juice unless no sugar added...if you do have juice it should be watered down..can have vegetable juice tho....that's what I was told....

Been really paying attention to Protein was in BJs came across these these amazing chicken meatballs. They were teriyaki I cooked up garlic peppers pineapple and the meatballs with just a dash of teriyaki sauce. Omg so good so excited to try the rest of these products in the line they had. It was called Harvestland. If anyone Shops at BJs

That sounds good...I've been trying to find some small frozen dinner things to make since I'm alone quite a bit...I've never been much for that type of meal since I had 3 sons to cook for I usually never bought frozen food other than vegetables or pizza....so any recommendations of things o can get that aren't so high in carbs? I looked at the diet dinners like Atkins...they seem high in carbs and sodium...i tried one and it was gross.....how about potpies? Wonder about the protein in them

I had horrible insomnia before the surgery. I have slept like the dead since. I think I've only taken my trazodone to fall asleep once since Nov. 26.

My pouch has strong aversions to creamy food. I do much better with some texture. My current favorite is tuna salad (made with Greek yogurt and a tiny hint of mayo) with chopped pickles and onions on top of sliced cucumbers. So good. The tuna itself won't stay down but it will with the cucumber.

That sounds good...im not a tuna fan but I could do this! Maybe some Tomato too...i had lettuce salad for the first time yesterday..yum

I have been eating salads right along. No problems. And if eating by yourself I was havin the same problem. Today I went to hannaford and they had this precut up meat smaller that I could buy. With veggies. Like stir fry. Ask your butcher to he can make smaller pieces of meat.

Thanks! Yes I am in the gym only cleared for easy cardio right now ofcourse I try to push the boundaries on working out. Today I did some light lifting. Did you have open?

No, I had laparoscopic. I do 30-45 mins of light to moderate cardio (brisk walking/hills) per day. My Dr said to wait six weeks before anything more than that. I'm a stickler for rules so I'll wait but I'm ready to do some boxing and lifting. Next dr appt isn't until the 11th.

Really struggling with fluids & food because I have been sick the last few days. Anyone else going through this? I am worried I am getting dehydrated or going to put myself into starvation mode by taking in too few calories but I am sleeping so much and feel like crap. My regular doc said it was just viral & had to run its course so naturally I am miserable. I dont mean to be a worrier or a whiner ... lol....but I am wondering if I should check in with my surgeon and not just my regular doc. My next appt isnt until the 11th with the surgeon. My weight hasnt come to a complete standstill but almost.....

How exactly do you make this tuna salad? It sounds really yummy! You should post a recipe! :) I had tuna salad at Panera and my stomach did ok with it, but when I made it at home it didnt settle real well. I would like to try your version.

The weight must come off. ;-). I know this will sound odd but I remind myself that if the body would permanently refuse to loss weight there would be no one that is anorexic. Please understand I don't want to be there. I'm just trying to remind myself logically. We are burning way more then we take in.

Oooooommmmm. (Meditation lol).

Love your logic! I need to remind myself this too!

The first month was easier when I knew the things to eat like cream Soup or yogurt..but now that I can eat regular food I'm struggling a little with what to eat so I know out of fear I'm not eating enough! I wish I had a laid out menu everyday to follow!

I agree! I wish someone would make me a designated meal plan! Of course since we are all different, it isnt that easy, but that sure would help. I have a hard time figuring out what "regular" food to eat.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
