My doctor only has given me the "ok" to walk. Then our weather got cold & wintery.. So, to answer your question 'am I working out?' No. I try to do enough walking indoors all day, and I am looking for alternative exercises.

I'm still recovering from the surgery, so it's slow going

Thanks for the encouragement!!

For anyone that is looking into having RNY surgery...look at what it has done for me...

In April of this year I weighed in at 309lbs. I was devistated. I was wearing 24/26 clothes that were tight! Well in just 7 short months this is where I am now 188lbs and wearing a size 12. I have about 23 more pounds to go until I get to my goal of 165 (I am 5'9 so that is a BMI 25) and for Thanksgiving this year...I am jogging/walking in my FIRST 5k. I am so excited I can't hardly wait. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR MY RNY. It has changed my life FOREVER and I am so happy with the results that I have had. Here is some before and now photos.

Congratulations

Hi Christi question for ya did you have any problem consuming the Protein, are there days that you did not really do what ur surgeon said, or could not get the Water in. You look great, and basically did you have any set backs.

Amazing Christi.... may I ask how's your skin?

Lol the skin is another issue. I have a lot of hanging skin. My breast, upper arms, thighs ans stomach are the worst. Hopefully time will be kind and get rid of the extra skin.

I had trouble in the beginning getting everything in. I was pretty good by about 1 month out. Now I have trouble sticking to my routine. If I stick to my routine all goes well. When life happens I just go with it and try to get back in track as soon as I can. I am still doing the same Protein as I did when I came home from the hospital. I try not to mix things up a lot. When I do, sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes I dump...so I just stick to what works for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
