dadsangel 2 Posted November 13, 2012 I am almost 3 months post op and have been having intermittent dizziness. I feel the room move and I feel off balance. Anyone have this happen and how do you know it's nothing serious or if it is even because if the RNy surgery?
Cheryl Barfoot 69 Posted November 13, 2012 bet you have an inner ear infection! i get this alot and boy is it unpleasant! doesn't hurt or anything just dizzy kinda like bouncing off the walls and everything else too. good luck hope the room stops spinning soon! lol
DLCoggin 1,788 Posted November 14, 2012 I've had the same thing but I'm not aware of any connection to RNY. My primary gave me a Rx for Meclizine, 12.5 MG tablets and they help - a LOT.
theby_88 72 Posted November 14, 2012 I got a bad case of vertigo when I was on a liquid diet and it was the worst thing ever. I was in the hospital and I couldn't walk around for about a week without throwing up and couldn't drive for like a month. It was bad. I think it was from the fast weight loss. I am not sure but if I got it doing that and you are getting it now I think it has to do with that. I am not a doctor though so I don't know.
LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted November 14, 2012 I found I had that as well around 3 months. It does get better but, you have to make sure you're getting in enough liquids. Dehydration can cause lots of issues. I found getting enough rest, drinking enough liquids and doing my best to get my Protein in helped with it. Definitely call your surgeon, you don't want to let it go too long especially if you're doing all of the above!
