I wasn't given a number, just Protein first, veggies next, then fruits. After all that, there insnt really much room left for carbs. Also was told that carbs must be mixed with protein.

I was advised just like slowtogo

The only thing my Dr told me to count was 64 ounces of hydration a day

Eat Protein first then if after 3 ounces I am still hungry I can have a veggie not corn or peas

fruit only as a small dessert again only if I am still hungry which never happens

I don't think I dump unless I over eat

I have friends that dump from the smell of baking Cookies not sure why I am different but I am

I've lost 85 lbs. since my surgery in July. The only carbs I ingest are incidental, that is they are part of the vegetables/nuts/fruits that I eat. My diet consists of ZERO grains now--it is basically the paleo diet, except I eat no honey, and only a few fruits & berries. I am convinced that this is good for me and my current life style. I guess the most important thing is sustainability. Can you see yourself eating like this "forever"? I can! I feel so wonderfully healthy right now I could run into the streets & shout about it! Haha, guess not...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
