Christmas Question

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on 10/29/12... I must say that I do have a high tolerance for pain.. However nothing prepared me for the pain and total lethargy that I felt after this surgery. I needed pain meds for the first week. i have not yet resumed 100% of my normal activities.. I am trying though and doing better everyday.. I notice that I get tired easier and need to rest. I can't wait until I start to feel normal again and more like myself!

Jnygirl,

Good luck. I know everyone is different with pain tolerance and getting back to normal. Hopefully each day it gets better... And one step closer to a way better normal!

Jyngirl, that worries me too. I'm only asking Christmas break off of work, so I've got 2 weeks to get it done & get back to regular life. I teach middle school & it does require a lot of energy. Definitely will be planning some low key activities during that first week back to conserve energy. I hope today is fantastic for you!

I am a teaching assistant in grades 2-5, so I'm running constantly. I am having my surgery on December 4th and just tied it in to the Christmas break, so I will not have to resume school until the 7th of January. I'm happy I was able to do this and decided not to worry at all and concentrate on my recovery. Although, I have a significant amount of time off I will only be missing a little more than two weeks of work. I started this process hoping to have the surgery in the summer. Unfortunately, I had insurance hurdles which caused the delay. Fortunately it helps because I met out-of-pocket and deductibles.

I have been through multiple surgeries. Each of them with their own set of circumstances and healing. My biggest problem is handling pain meds. If I take them as prescribed I can't seem to function at all and sleep a majority of the time. On the other hand, once I feel pain I'm miserable until the medication kicks in. It's hard to find the dose that takes the edge off without causing sleepiness all day long. If bearable I will just take tylenol.

Good luck to you on your journey and I hoe soon we will be able to compare notes on the "loser's" bench!

I got a date of December 20. I got cleared at work without having to say too much about why. Nice. I thought I would have to say what kind of surgery, but turns out just saying surgery was good enough. Whew... Now I've got to really get it all together so I can relax at Christmas and heal.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
