Betsyjane 2 Posted February 5, 2007 2 days ago I had pain in my right shoulder joint...then in the top of my right arm. This morning that's gone but I have sharp continuous pain in the middle of my upper back. Right in the middle at the spine. It doesn't hurt more or less if I eat...well, drink...it's morning. It doesn't hurt more or less if I move. It hurts to take a deep breath: I can take one, but it hurts. I can't figure out whether I'm having a heart attack, a band problem, or what! kebsa 1 Posted February 5, 2007 If t hurst to take a deep breath get it checked out. if eating drinking etc don't make it better or worse, same with movement it is best to make no assumptions about what it is. I note that you have only recently had a fill, it could be irritaton from the band being swollen, or a bit too tight- go back to fluids only for a day or so, but perhaps give you doctor a call as continuous pain is less common and I am concerned that it hurst you to take a deep breath- better safe than sorry
I'm still here 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Hi BetsyJane ~ I feel for you! I had horrible mid to low back pain for the first two weeks immediately following my surgery and finally ended up having to take an anti-inflamatory to get it under control. I thought I was going to die before it went away. It was so bad that I don't even know if I had GAS pains because I couldn't think at that point . . . I'd call Dr. Spivak - since you just had a fill it could be related to that. Good luck, Lynn
I'm still here 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Jack, I am glad you posted that . . . I have been wondering if having an adjustment is something that I could do post-banding. I am new (banded 1-12-07) and am still trying to figure out what my limitations are going to be as a result of the band . . . I have figured out I am a little more 'skiddish' than I thought I was . . . Anyway, I have Migraine headaches (alot) and would like to see a Chiropractor for treatment. Thanks, Lynn
Betsyjane 2 Posted February 5, 2007 I loved going to the chirpractor after I had a lower back injury. Is there anything about an adjustment that I can't do with the band?
Betsyjane 2 Posted February 6, 2007 The cause of my pain was my own stupidity, and not being aware enough of my owne ating to recognize it. In the morning I have alot of restriction. I had also been given Elk sausage with hot peppers in it. While I was still really restricted, I was fixing it in chili for that evening for my husband, and while fixing it I took a bite. It stuck, so I knew I was stupid...but I didn't realize the peppers were just sitting there frying my innerds while it was stuck. The pain in my back was referred pain and lasted a long time. A shot of milk to counteract the heat got me back to normal.
AngieM 0 Posted February 8, 2007 Do you still have your gall bladder? That is how my attacks started. Maybe the chili set you off. But if you keep getting the pain I would contact your doc as soon as you can about it.
