yeah the chili is on the list of foods surgeon said I can eat during this stage and it is like pouch friendly for now as we are to introduce new foods as trail and error. the small chili has under 300 calories and I eat on it like all day and it has 20 something grams of Protein so with me having to get 80 in. day surgeon said I still have to drink Protein shakes as I will not eat enough to get the protein in. I called the office to make sure as I was really worried about this. so when given the all clear I went and bought 2 more for the next few days lol

I eat just about a half chili over one of their baked potatoes. Its high in protein and low in fat. I think it's a great fast food option, if you have to have one! I'm 9 weeks out.

Why not just eat Soup. Wendy's chili really yuck. Never liked it. Hubs likes it too. I know you will have cravings but I won't go near ( I hope) the stuff that got me to where am now

My nutritionist suggested the Wendy's Soup cause it's full of protein!

It's very good. It's just Beans, beef and veggies with I believe 17g of Protein in a small. That's the only food place that is around my college so I've stopped there a few times.

You can eat a whole potato? ESP with chili on it?

If its a small potato, I can eat a whole one with only half of the small chili on top. It takes about 30-45 mins.

sigh of relief!! and yeah it takes me an hour or more to eat that 1/2 cup so its not like I eat it fast.

I was given no more than 30 mins to eat a meal/drink a supplement--after that I'm done--otherwise we would graze all day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
