Yes I started the diet this oct. and surgery date idk? I was thinking early summer? I don't mind the requirements@ all I just wish like u said...they would realize the yo yo part and that I don't keep it off..if I loose 10 I gain back 15 ! Lol

and the fact that you DON"T have any co morbidties, might mean if they allow you to have the surgery you can AVOID having any in the future. Makes no sense to me that we have to get so sick

to get help. It is like a dag gone ferris wheel (and not the fun kind) lose weight, you don't weight enough, gain it back and then try again and be put on another six month diet and you lose and don't weight enough. Why is common sense so lacking in these requirements. Sorry for the vent. I just

really feel for you and wish there was an answer and hope there is and you can have this surgery and avoid the illnesses that comes with obesity.

Hugs to you

I completely, utterly and totally relate to your situation. I am going through the same thing. My BMI is currently about 38.6 (couldn't put my exact height in the ticker, so that's a little off). I do have what my general doctor considers comorbidities (hypertension and hyperlipidemia); however, I'm not sure my insurance company will accept those. They're mostly looking for diabetes and sleep apnea. The girl I spoke with on the phone was very "iffy" when I asked for the complete list. My surgeon's coordinator was so kind, though, and said she'd do everything she could to get me approved. So, I'm going to go ahead and attend the informational meeting and sign up for one of their clinics, and go from there.

I'm crossing my fingers for you that everything works out. :)

I hope everything works out. The sooner you get the surgery the better chance you have at improving your health.

Catgyrl I understand high bp to def. be a comorbid? But heck what do I know! Wish my surgery coordinator was so nice! She's just like owell don't for see this happening anytime soon! I wanna just well snap! Anyway I went over her head and called the girl who is the WLS advocate @ the hospital she hopefully will help! She has had WLS surgery and understands! where the other girl has never had an issue and is prob like 25?If not i have another doc I will visit ..not what I wanna do but I'm not quitting ! Good luck to u girl!

My BMI is 34.9 - not enough for insurance to pay. So I am self-pay. I look at it as an investment in my future health.

Wish I could self pay but..my hubby HATES the idea of this ..and informed me that he wasn't paying a dime which is fine...I Carry the insurance so that's the only reason I'm able to get it done..when he carried it he refused ...

It hurts to drain my savings account but I view it as necessary. I watched my father sabotage my mother's weight loss by deliberately bringing home high-fat sugary foods. And today she is basically bedridden and diabetic. All I can say is that each of us must be advocates for own own health.

We are investing in a better future.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
