Well Surgery Didn't Happen Today.

Recommended Posts

Things do happen for a reason whether we understand those reasons or not, it will come to us later. Take the time to research further, get to understand what you'll be going through later etc. that will help the time pass for sure. It will be here before you know it!

Seriously tho, this will give you an opportunity to have a nice thanksgiving with your family. I must admit I chose spring for my surgery specifically to avoid the holidays.

Next time don't shave and then it will happen... Lol!!

I dare not shave today for sure, I even got that massive dose of heparin I would make the shower look like a crime scene. LOL

I know the first thing my sister said was "I am so sorry, but now what are you bringing to Thanksgiving" too funny. I am doing ok today.

Losin it

Thank you I am not going to derail all the work I have done. Going to continue to eat healthy and keep the pounds off I lost and somehow get these sugars down. More insulin, of course that will mean more inflamation and pain, and then weight gain. It is a vicious circle. But I truly respect my Doctor and Know that he is looking out for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
