Recommended Posts

Ok so I'm newly single out of a extremely toxic relationship of 5 years but I know eventually I will start dating again and even just get out in the real world go to dinner with guys or movie even just as friends but when it gets to the next level when is a good time to bring it up should I just play it by ear or be honest from the start I have a young son who will not meet an man until I think it's right it's only fair to him just asking for some advice for some post op ppl who have kinda been in my shoes

Great question! I am newly single (a year out) myself and have been wondering the same thing. Anxious to see some of the responses to this....

In my case, I tell men up front. So far, they've been really cool about it. I'm a very open person, so I put it out there at first so if they have an issue, they can walk on by.

I think you should only say something if it is really burdening you. Otherwise, business as usual!

You also have to consider the man you are dealing with. If they are around long enough they're going to notice the weight loss, the small amounts of food, and your eating habits.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
