I ate a cupcake at work. :-( I resisted it all day and ate it when I was getting ready to go home.

I've come to the awful realization that I don't dump.

I had a jolly rancher candy stick. Look we can not totally deny ourselves we have to be careful how much and how often we allow ourselves a treat of course. I read the package and found the candy with the least calories and least sugar and allowed myself to have the one- guilt free! The difference today from last halloween is that I would have eaten tons more and not even thought about it. Today I ate one candy and a couple of candy corn and that was it and my craving was dealt with and I am all good. Do I do that everyday? NO! But we have to allow ourselves some treats once in awhile in order not to feel deprived and move one. Do I wish I was that person that never craved this stuff and could be totally happy all the time with fruit, cheese and soybeans to snack on (my normal snacks) YES, but I am not, so I need to own it and not let it own or control me. So I think I did good I had a little bit and did not feel deprived and enjoyed watching my family eat the caramel apples and cider I made for them yet did not eat.

Enjoy life with control!

i wasn't tempted, but that is probably because I am pre op and I knew I could have some and nobody would know, or I wouldn't dump or anything. Maybe some of it is KNOWING YOU CAN"T have it that makes it so hard. So what I am saying is, it might have been easy for me yesterday but sure might not be easy for me after surgery. What you says makes a lot of sense Ellie. If we feel deprived we want it more. We can't let one piece mean a binge, and let it say heck I screwed up so I might as well eat the whole bowl. None of us should do that, if we are pre op, post op, dump or don't dump. We have to do something to change our way of thinking and dealing with this. We can do this.

I agree. Just because we had this surgery doesn't mean we can never eat what we want or crave. We just have to do so in GREAT MODERATION. I had a few pieces of candy yesterday and didn't dump. However, I didn't eat as many as I would have in the past. Even though I haven't dumped, I keep in mind that it is still possible. When I endulge I do so in moderation. For instance, I still enjoy fried foods. In the past, I could eat a 3pc in no time. Now, I have a leg or a wing or two and I'm done. And I don't do it often. Will power is a factor, too and I thank God for having it.

I have all this extra left over here. I'm not going to even test the waters!!! I won't lie, when I first opened the bag of chocolates and the smell of Reese's came out I almost fell to my knees. After that, I haven't even wanted any.

I have left overs, too. I only bought M&M fun packs. I'm going to keep a few packs and give the rest away. It will probably take me forever to eat them though. LOL. They will come in handy during that time of the month though.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
