My name is Pam. My surgery(RNY) was 12/14. Dr Wes Powell Pasadena, Ca. I started at 342 and as of today 12/30 I am at 315. I had a had week last week. I went to my families home and ate real food. Very small portions. I only lost 2 pounds over the week and now I am trying to figure out how to get back on track. The good news is no dumping and no vomiting. I did not have any bread products. Small amounts of meet, cheese, and some fruit.< /p>

Good for you! I've done nothing but sleep for the most part. So this morning I decided no more pain meds. I'm finally up and moving like a real person. Maybe tomorrow I will venture out! Way to go tat2girl1502!!

felt good to get out for my walk even though it's so cold. and wasn't really a good reason behind my walk. sucks not having my truck to drive.. but at least I'm not the one who did wrong and is behind bars. I'm just the victim of the stolen and totaled truck. but anyways... I hope everyone has a great new yr with amazing results from our huge decisions of the surgery

That's horrible. Some people are just idiots. I hope you get it all taken care of soon. Being left car less isn't fun :-(

your right... it def sucks not having a vehicle. but what's worse is to have to depend on others for help when you've always been the independent one. right now my main focus is recovering and having these incisions heal up.. but of course I have to deal with my car insurance company in the process. uuugh

That is too bad. Hopefully you get it all worked out. But you are right, healing is number 1.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
