Let's Talk Constipation!

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I'm once again constipated! What are you using that can give immediate relief other than an enema :(.......Is anyone taking a daily stool softener to stay regular?

I've tried ducolax as fast acting reliever but this time it's not working! Sorry this is my wonderful early morning CONVO! Lol

Sorry I have been stop up a lot some times for days. Depends on how much I eat. To little no poop 800 caloies a day I go every day.

Try apple juice it's got a lot of natural sugar but will make you want to be close to a bathroom, or prun juice

Good luck

Did the apple juice help?

Eventually it did, but it took about three days along with mixing it with Miralax. I'm going regularly now.....YEAH!

You can take Milk of mag for immediate relief. 6 hrs or so. I take 4-5 senakot tablets a day to keep me regular. They are half laxative half softener. I buy the generic at target.

This is what I discovered works for me: Prunes! I only eat about a serving and it has helped regulate my system. I was trying colace, and that helped, but wasn't working very well. I was having very bad problems and since I've been eating a serving of prunes a day, Constipation isn't an issue anymore. This may not work for everyone, but it helped me when medicine didn't work. Hope it helps you!

That's what stool softner I used and it seemed to work great. I haven't taken it in a few days and everything has been better. I still don't go number 2 very often. Like every 3 days or so. Are you drinking a lot of Water?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
