Disappointment In Someone I Thought I Could Trust

Recommended Posts

I am so sorry this has happened to you. I only started this process in the last few months and I have many months to go. I know that there will be negative responses to a life time change like this but you have to keep this in mind....you are getting healthy for you and not them. You want to make sure that you are around a long time for your family. It's true that you do learn who is your true friends during this process. So far I have had great responses but I am just in the beginning so I know that there will be negative ones too. You are strong and will get past this....your co-worker has a chip on her shoulder and her negativity will show in this.

I am so excited for you. You will be in my prayers and thoughts during this time :)

I have realized through this whole process that people really can be quite negative.. It sucks and it hurts too :(. But this is for me.. And about me! Doc told me I am on the verge of being diabetic.. So don't want to go down that road! And I want to be the best me that I can be so I am doing this naysayers be damned! I will take the love and emotional comfort of those who truly do care about me.. The rest I leave to God :) and thank God for all if you on here.. I am nervous today is the day before I go in.. Have to be at hospital at 745 am tomorrow!

Thinking about you, hope your comfortable and not in to much pain xxx

OMG.. This girl will not leave me alone.. She called me while I was in the hospital.. I answered bc I was so out of it. I don't want to have any sort of discussion with her about this shit anymore. I feel like you burned me.. I found out..now 'f' off and leave me alone!

So this girl I work closest to knew I was going this process and acted like my biggest supporter she wanted updates after every appointment and dates of future one. She was such a lol cheer leader. Well before I even had my date I was just waiting for it and knew it would at least a minimum of 4 weeks later from when I got my date she starts bombarding me to tell the owner of the company who I had no desire of telling until I had a date. She took the liberty of not only telling him but was telling hr also!!!!! I was so discussed and furious it was not her business to discuss.

Been there! Our relationship has been non existent to say the least.

Oh my Gosh!!! Jenn.. You so know what I am going through! I am home trying to recuperate from my surgery and am still hearing about the comments going on at work because I do have two very close friends there who are extremely supportive. I am contemplating filing an HR report against her at this point bc she should not be discussing my medical w/o my permission! I am so sorry you had to deal with this too! Why are people so shallow? We decide to do better for ourselves and they try to throw us under the bus!!! UGH!!!!

Hugs to you :)

I told my boss that I would eventually take a leave for the surgery almost as soon as i started the process. I felt that I should let her know first at work so when it gets to the grape vine she won't be blind sided.

@Jnygrl, it is illegal for your boss or supervisor to ask anything about your private medical issues, so I'm sure that you can file a complaint about this girl discussing your private medical issues without your consent. I would send her something in writing telling her to cease and desist and report her to hr.

People like this are a menace and are desperate for attention. She has to be called to task for her behavior or she will continue and also do it to other people. I would verbally inform her and give her the letter. You will always regret it if you don't verbally put her back in her place. I would!!

Firstly, NOBODY should be discussing your personal business. You should definitely file a complaint. Water cooler gossip is one thing but she stepped way over the line. As for people like that outside of work, you just have to remind yourself it's their glitch not yours and don't waste your time even worrying about it. They aren't worth it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
